Over 140 Neighbors Attend EHCG's 2025 Fall Fiesta

On October 26, 2025, the East Hollywood Community Garden held its 2nd annual Fall Fiesta, sponsored by Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Over 140 attendees came to the garden, many of whom were visiting for the first time. It was a great turnout, and a lovely afternoon to share the garden with neighbors who we hope will consider gardening with us in the future.

What is a fiesta without a feast? A garden member and chef, Louise, created a delicious menu from rescued produce from Hollywood Food Coalition. Volunteers helped prepare the produce into a green salad, fruit salad, garbanzo-date-feta salad, and apple poppyseed coleslaw. Courage Bagels and Waterloo Sparkling also donated food and drink to enjoy alongside the fresh salads.

Upon checking in, guests received a garden "bingo card" of sorts with four activity stations located all over the garden. After stopping in to learn at one of the stations, guests could get a sticker. Visiting all four stations meant an entry into the raffle!

Children's Hospital Los Angeles Literally Healing Program gifted books and hosted a coloring station.

Volunteers from Los Angeles Community College helped guests make seed balls. Even the praying mantis made one of its own by rolling damp soil into a ball with seeds!

LA Compost set up a table next to our compost to share how composting works.

At the Harvest station, garden volunteers showed guests plants in the communal area that were ready for harvest. Next to the blue building, DJ Strange Cadence mixed live music all afternoon.

An excited raffle winner is awarded the hand-woven hat made by garden volunteer Yoonmi Kim.
EHCG Outreach Coordinator Anna Dean hosted the Fall Fiesta as a praying mantis in the spirit of Halloween.

Local businesses in our community generously donated to a raffle.

Raffle prizes included:
  • 1 lb. Bag of coffee beans from Desert's Coffee
  • $25 gift card to Saffy's Coffee
  • $40 gift card to Courage Bagels
  • 1 month unlimited yoga pass to One Down Dog Yoga
  • Season tickets for 2 to The Fountain Theatre
Thank you to our business community supporters!

Costumes were encouraged, and many people dressed up ahead of Halloween.

See you at the Spring Fiesta! Sunday, April 26th, 3-5pm.
